The Service Collective: Service Learning at Dock Street
The Service Collective at The Dock Street School for STEAM Studies provides students with meaningful, hands-on service-learning opportunities throughout the school year. Each week, students engage in projects that build empathy, leadership, and civic responsibility while making a real impact in our community.
Students participate in a wide range of initiatives, including filling the Red Box Food Pantry, planting trees throughout the neighborhood, creating holiday cards for community members, and supporting local organizations through service projects. These experiences are embedded into our school culture and offer students consistent opportunities to give back, collaborate, and lead with purpose.
Through the Service Collective, Dock Street students develop a strong sense of social awareness, responsibility, and pride as they learn that service is not a one-time event, but an ongoing commitment to community and kindness.
